Why so empty?
Like every other candidate, I’ve filled out many questionnaires from all kinds of organizations in our community. I’m sure there are things I can agree upon with all of them, but what I refuse to do is prioritize them over you, and so far none have wanted to endorse that ethos.
When I decided to run for city council, I committed to serving the residents of Ward 5 and Tucson.
I believe the best way to do that is to be an independent voice, not beholden to monied interests, the political establishment, or other organizations. So, you’re not going to see a laundry list of political officials and organizations here, because I don’t owe anything to them and I’m not taking their money.
My job, if elected, is to listen to you and the community and represent your interests.
There is one exception though, my fellow Ward 5 City Council Candidate Fabian Danobeytia. He withdrew from the race earlier in the year. Like me, he cares a lot about Tucson’s working families and standing up for what’s right. We met and discovered that we agree upon a lot and share many of the same values since that time Fabian has supported my campaign - helping with community events and helping me knock doors - not because he wants something in return, but because he too cares deeply about the future of our community.
